What is body fat? … and what is the purpose of it .. exactly?

Body fat is made up of large, white cells that are stored under the skin or around the organs in the belly, arms, buttocks, and thighs. These fat cells are the body’s way of storing energy for later use.

In simple words, fat is the way your human body prepares itself for periods of starvation. Which happened often hundreds and thousands of years ago.
